Field Trips

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Field trips are an integral component of the curriculum at our institution. We recognize the significance of learning outside the traditional classroom setting and strive to provide experiences that engage students with their surroundings.

Each season offers diverse opportunities for educational exploration, beginning with autumn hikes within our local community and nature-oriented excursions to locations such as Willowgrove Educational Centre and Earthbound Kids. Additionally, we regularly visit the Pickering Public Library to foster a passion for reading and intellectual curiosity.

Experiential Learning

Our younger students participate in educational and interactive excursions to farms and play centres, while older grades anticipate the annual ski trip to Dagmar, which enhances their confidence, coordination, and teamwork skills. We explore scientific concepts with visits to Ripley’s Aquarium, and our Grade Five students gain a deeper understanding of government through an annual trip to the Legislative Assembly.

Each trip is meticulously planned to align with the curriculum, thereby enriching classroom learning through real-world experiences and meaningful connections.

Field Trips impact children’s lives

Field trips offer numerous benefits for students, enhancing their learning and overall development. They provide hands-on, real-world experiences, making learning more engaging and memorable.

Field trips also promote social skills, critical thinking, and cultural awareness, contributing to a more well-rounded education.
